Human Rights Advocates

Human beings around the world appreciate living in a community where they coexist peacefully and given equal opportunities. When this does not happen, the individuals whose rights are infringed on are never happy.

Therefore, people opt for other measures to ensure their voice is heard. On the other hand, other individuals decide to be the voice of the oppressed, and this is where groups that foster human, civil and migrants’ rights come in. These groups come in handy in lots of ways in that be it they advocate for public, migrants and human rights, their intentions are directed towards a direct course. Some of these groups are;

The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA).CHIRLA is the leading group based in California when it comes to advocating for rights of immigrant families and also individuals.

For them, they instigate people towards the realization of the right for free versatility human rights participation in democracy. Their main aim is to oversee a society that will make it possible for all to be considered and for that matter inclusive even for immigrants.

The Amazon Watch. This group is located in Sans Francisco. It works in the Amazon basin in liaison with environmental organizations and indigenous groups towards the amelioration of indigenous’ people rights.

Lacey & Larkin Frontera Fund. Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin being the co-founders of Phoenix New Times, for them, they opted for financing organizations that fight for migrant rights across Arizona.

Those being reporters, at some point they got arrested by the sheriff, and as the result of the settlement from their detention, they decided to use the $3.75 towards a right course.

The reason behind their arrest was because of a story they had written on the Sheriff, which exposed that there were a grand jury proceedings that were to get reporters personal notes after they worked on a story about the sheriff.

These two writers sued the county because they had initially fought towards the fulfillment of first amendment rights. Given they won the case and got awarded settlement money whopping to $3.75 million. The Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund will aid groups that foster for civil, human, and migrant rights inclusive of freedom of speech and civic involvement throughout Arizona not forgetting “la línea fronteriza,” which is the Mexican border.

With just a few of the groups mentioned, it is evident that for the world to co-exist peacefully, we all need each other. In case it does not happen that way, it is essential to appreciate groups out there that give it their all to speak for the oppressed.
